- We're Here to Help
We understand that circumstances can change, and sometimes it can become difficult to keep up with your repayments.
If you're worried about making your next payment, or your financial situation has changed, please contact us as soon as possible. The sooner you get in touch, the more options we may have available to help.
Our aim is to work in partnership with you to find a fair and affordable solution that reflects your circumstances.
How Can We Help?
Every customer's situation is different, so we'll take the time to understand what's happened and discuss the support that may be available.
Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to:
Review your income and essential household spending.
Discuss a repayment plan that's more affordable for your current situation.
Consider accepting reduced payments for a period of time.
In some circumstances, consider stopping further interest from being added to your loan while you maintain an agreed repayment arrangement.
To help us understand your circumstances, we may ask you to complete an income and expenditure form.
Why Is It Important to Contact Us Early?
Talking to us before you miss a payment gives us the best opportunity to help.
By contacting us early, we can:
Discuss the support options available.
Explain how any changes could affect your account.
Help you avoid unnecessary worry by agreeing a plan together where possible.
Ignoring payment difficulties can make it harder to resolve the situation later, so we'd always encourage you to get in touch as soon as you can.
What Happens If My Payments Are Reduced?
If we agree a reduced payment plan, it's important to understand how this may affect your account.
Your account may:
Remain in arrears while you're paying less than your original contractual repayments.
Be reported as being in arrears to the credit reference agencies, which means this may appear on your credit file.
Be ineligible for further borrowing with Fair for You until your account is up to date.
We'll always explain these implications before agreeing any new repayment arrangement, so you know what to expect.
