Using Your Prepaid Card

Your prepaid card can be used both in-store and online at participating retailers. This guide explains how to activate your card, make purchases, and access important card information.

How to Activate Your Card

Before you can use your card, you'll need to activate it.

Call either:

  • 0203 468 4112

  • 0203 327 1991

You will need:

  • Your 16-digit card number

  • Your date of birth in the format DD/MM/YY

Once you've completed the security checks, select the option to hear your PIN. When your PIN is provided, your card will be activated and ready to use.

Activating Your Card if you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech impairment

If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech impairment, you can use Relay UK, a free service that helps people communicate over the phone.

You can find out more about Relay UK here: www.relayuk.bt.com

Once connected through Relay UK, call one of the activation numbers above and follow the standard activation process. The Relay assistant will communicate on your behalf.

Using Your Card In-Store

Your card works like a standard Chip & PIN card and can also be used for contactless payments.

The first time you use your card in-store, you'll need to enter your PIN. After this, you'll be able to use contactless payments where accepted.

Using Your Card Online

When shopping online:

  1. Select Mastercard as your payment method.

  2. Enter your card details when prompted.

  3. Complete any additional security checks.

You may be asked to provide:

  • Your memorable word

  • A verification code sent by text message

Memorable Word

If you're asked for your memorable word, you can find it in your Online Account Area

Verification Codes

For some online purchases, we'll send a verification code to the mobile number registered on your card.

If you're not receiving verification texts and your mobile number is correct on your account, please let us know so we can check the phone number linked to your card.

PIN Reminders

If you've forgotten your PIN, you can retrieve it by calling:

  • 0203 468 4112

  • 0203 327 1991

You'll need:

  • Your 16-digit card number

  • Your date of birth in the format DD/MM/YY

Follow the automated options to hear your PIN.

Digital Wallets

At the moment, the prepaid card cannot be added to:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Chrome Wallet

If your device attempts to autofill payment information from a digital wallet, your payment may not be processed correctly.

For the best experience, we recommend entering your card details manually when making purchases online.

Where Can I Use My Card?

Food Club Card

You can use your Food Club Card:

  • In-store at Iceland and The Food Warehouse

  • Online at Iceland and The Food Warehouse

Shopping Card

You can use your Shopping Card at a range of approved retailers both online and in-store, including:

  • Argos

  • Currys

  • Iceland

  • And many more
